We all apparently need to get to the magical number of 100 followers in order to participate fully on the Medium platform.

I’m not always sure what the rules of engagement are. I find there is a lack of transparency. Can you insert url links to illustrate your point? Apparently not. Can you insert a high definition image? Apparently not. Are these features only available to paying members?
