What “they” don’t want you to know about Prince Harry

--

I recently bought the book, “Spare”, Prince Harry’s autobiography, and I was surprised how well it was written. But, more to the point, I was astounded by WHAT was actually written. The revelations. Much of what he wrote is verifiable and entirely different from what we learned from the media and the Palace public relations teams.

All the FACTS in the book are from Harry’s diaries, army records, and royal household appointments records. Those military records and the notices of his engagements in the Court Circulars cannot be disputed.

You must decide whether you believe his interpretation of events.

Because they are from his diaries and memories, they can of course be questioned. Also, you must question whether the articles you read in the mainstream media and on the internet can be trusted.

The book is 407 pages long and I will describe the key issues which will enable you to make up your mind whether Harry has some fair criticisms of what has been reported about him. But first some background.

Prince Harry founded the Invictus Games on 6 March 2014. after his military service in Afghanistan ended. His concept was to set up a structure that would encourage wounded and sick men and women of the armed services to engage in sports which would benefit them both psychologically and physically.

He is still the patron of the foundation he founded, and raises millions of donations each year to make the Games a resounding success which benefits all the ex-servicemen who take part.

Breaking News from a senior executive of the Invictus Games.

On 17 November 2023, the following statement was issued to the press, “CEO Peter Lawless, who was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal, and Chief Commercial Officer, Bill Cooper, were dismissed.

The foundation has announced that there are no budgetary or financial problems. However, it has been suggested that serious difficulties would arise if the foundation, rather than the Crown, had to meet his security costs.

And that has, clearly, not been well thought out by the Royal Household and senior courtiers, all of whom are getting on in age and have, I believe, become too sycophantic.

Prince Harry is 6th in line to the throne. If King Charles and Prince William died before Prince William’s son, George, became 18 years old, Prince Harry would become Regent. That would be automatic. For that reason alone, he is entitled to security.

Charles and William had always stood four square behind Harry in support of his initiative and attended all major Invictus events. After HRH Prince Harry met Meghan, HRH Duchess of Sussex, the senior royals have had zero involvement and shown no support.

The general consensus amongst the staff and volunteers is that this “ill will against Harry should not be held against the service men and women participating in the Invictus project.”

A respected political commentator said, “petty and mean-spirited royals are ignoring (the) Invictus Games. No senior royals have attended, even though they continue to hold formal honorary ranks in the military.

Since 10 August 2023, the HRH titles have disappeared from the royal website. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not invited to King Charles III birthday on 14 November 2023.

WHY IT ALL STARTED TO GO WRONG FOR PRINCE HARRY

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was a strong champion of all things connected with the military. He had served in the Second World War, having been awarded the Greek War Cross of Valour for his participation in the Battle of Crete. He was also mentioned in dispatches for his service during the Battle of Cape Matapan, where he saved his ship from a night bomber attack by spotting an enemy vessel.

The attitude towards Prince Harry noticeably changed after the Duke of Edinburgh died. In my view, the media and the royal household realised that his not being around anymore was their green light to “attack” Harry at every possible moment of their choosing. The media gained millions from exploiting news events, whether real or fictitious, involving Prince Harry.

The Queen, in my opinion, was no longer strong enough to argue with her courtiers, or to stop the misleading articles appearing in the press.

Harry has some fair criticisms of what has been reported about him.

It was claimed that he was a nazi sympathiser. The truth is that the party was fancy dress and his “uniform” had been approved by the Palace. Everything he did and wore had to be approved. His brother, William, saw no problem in the outfit he was wearing.

The media accused him of receiving special treatment by allowing him to sport a beard during his tours of duty in Afghanistan. Although contrary to army regulations, it was, in fact, approved by his commanding officer and the Defence Ministry in London, partly because it afforded him some element of disguise against the enemy.

There was intelligence to show that the Afghans were trying to find and kidnap the Prince. His father, Prince Philip, told him to ignore the media comment. As a navy man, he was not at all perturbed about Harry having a beard. He fully supported Harry.

This is how the Media portrayed Harry.
This is how the Media always portrayed Harry. Using misleading but attention-grabbing headlines.

I try to keep my stories, which are not always but usually Thailand-related, to around a 4-minute read, and I try to write one short story each day.
